How to Make Garlic Vegetable Fried Rice

Second, you'll need a package of work, which is short-grained rice. It's the key ingredient in Chinese dishes. The longer the rice is fermented, the more pungent and garlicky it becomes. Use the vinegar and fish sauce in your cooker. You can also add in ginger and a bit of soy sauce for a more authentic Chinese flavor.

Third, you'll need vegetables. Avoid raw vegetables, as they tend to stick to the bottom of the frying pan. Carrots, zucchini, and sweet potatoes all make excellent vegetables, and you can cut them into chunks and fry them with the rice at the same time. Cook them briefly until they're soft, and then add them to your fried rice.

Fourth, you'll want to add either chicken or shrimp into your cooker. I prefer shrimp because it tends to have a better balance of flavor and texture. Cook them separately, or as you prepare the vegetables. It's not a huge difference, and if you don't know how to prepare them, it won't really matter.

Fifth, you need to stock your cooker. The usual method is to mix water, sugar, salt, and flour in a large pan, bring to a boil and then let the mixture cool down a bit before mixing it back into the rest of your ingredients. This makes a thick batter that will seal the ingredients firmly so they don't steam when cooking. With garlic vegetable fried rice, this process doesn't quite work as well, but it's worth mentioning anyway.

Sixth, you mix your vegetables and rice. Just mix everything well, making sure to combine all of the things that were in the pan together. Don't mix too much, or else it'll make a big mess. Once you've mixed the ingredients, just throw that in your microwave and heat it for about ten seconds to make sure the rice and vegetables are heated through.

That's pretty much all there is to making garlicky vegetable fried rice. The best part is you can do this every day, as long as you have a few minutes to spare. This is an especially good idea if you have a hectic morning schedule.
